Watch: Marnus Labuschagne shocks everyone with eerie act while batting in Ashes, video viral
The video was widely shared on social media on Thursday with many trolling Australia's Marnus Labuschagne for his act during the second Ashes Test.
Unusual and usual go hand-in-hand for Australia batter Marnus Labuschagne. As far as his batting discipline is concerned, there are not many who would attempt to find loopholes in it; he is just a quality Test batter. The assurance and truckload of runs that he brings to the table are a result of hours of hard work and detailed homework he prefers to do before walking out to bat every time against different oppositions - a quality that is perhaps the most desired one to be successful at the Test level. But at the same time, he is one of those fidgety youngsters who is never far from having a banter with the opposition and when not indulging in some of the weirdest conversations - he once asked Rohit Sharma what he did during quarantine - with opposition players, he makes everyone take note with his mannerisms, body movements and antics.
There is almost an expectation every time Marnus is on the big screen. But cameras watching or not, he loves to go about his business in his own unique way. A proof of that went viral on social media, evoking mixed reactions from netizens as Marnus was spotted picking up his chewing from the ground and putting it back into his mouth moments after dropping it.
The incident happened on Day 1 of the second Ashes Tes between England and Australia at Lord's. Marnus Labuschagne was batting with Steve Smith trying to take Australia to a commanding position after being asked to bat. Before the start of the 45th over, cameras panned towards Australia's No.3 was seen dropping his chewing gum on the pitch while adjusting his gloves. Much to the 'disgust' and 'surprise' of many, he picked the gum up and popped it right back into his mouth without a second thought.

Marnus, who had no qualms in admitting that he needs to make a slight technical adjustment in order to stop nicking deliveries outside the off stump, was, unfortunately, dismissed doing exactly that to an Ollie Robinson delivery that just shaped away after pitched a shade outside the off stump.
Australia, however, managed to put up a big first innings total of 416 thanks to Steve Smith's masterful 32nd Test hundred. Hosts England, gave a strong reply, reaching 278 for 4 at stumps on Day 2, slashing Australia's lead to 138 runs.
The bad news for England in comfortably scoring 278 runs was that all four wickets to fall were gifted to Australia.
England batted so serenely through the middle session and to an hour past tea — without even Bazballing it — that Australia spread its fielders, vacating the slips in desperate need of a second wicket.
And Australia's fortunes worsened when Nathan Lyon, its only wicket-taker at that point and the teammate who seemingly never gets hurt, injured his right calf while running to a ball in the field and hobbled away with help. He didn't return and the manner of his exit suggested he may not return for the rest of what is his 100th successive test.
Without Lyon's spin to wear down England, Australia changed its tactics by tempting England with the short ball.
England took the bait.
Ollie Pope, Ben Duckett and world No. 1 Joe Root recklessly went after short balls and gave catches behind square.
