PM chanted hymns in praise of Lord Ram and also enjoyed a puppet show depicting the epic Ramayana.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday visited the Veerbhadra temple in Andhra Pradesh's Lepakshi and offered prayers there. Modi chanted mantras in praise of Lord Ram, listened to special hymns sung in Telugu and also witnessed a puppet show on the epic Ramayana. According to legend, Lepakshi is believed to be the spot where the mythical vulture Jatayu landed after sustaining severe injuries while trying to rescue Sita from the demon king Ravana, who had abducted her. The Lepakshi temple complex also has idols of Lord Shiva, Vishnu, Papanatheswara, Raghunatha, Rama and other deities. Posting pictures of him offering prayers at the temple PM Modi wrote on X, “For all those who are devotees of Prabhu Shri Ram, Lepakshi holds great significance. Today, I had the honour of praying at the Veerbhadra temple. I prayed that the people of India be happy, healthy and scale new heights of prosperity.”(X/Narendra Modi)

The PM also watched a puppet show on Ramayana at the temple. Taking to X the prime minister wrote, “At the Veerbhadra temple, Lepakshi, heard the Ranganatha Ramayana and also saw a puppet show on the Ramayan.”(X/Narendra Modi)

The Prime Minister was also seen listening to hymns at the Veerbhadra temple in Lepakshi. Prior to visiting the Veerbhadra temple, PM Modi also visited Shree Kala Ram temple in Maharashtra's Nashik a few days back. The Kalaram temple is the place where Lord Ram is believed to have lived during his exile.(X/Narendra Modi)
