Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma reacting a question on his Jharkhand counterpart Hemant Soren’s letter to him, seeking ST status to Jharkhandi tea tribes in the northeastern state
Sarma, who is the BJP’s co-in charge in poll-bound Jharkhand, has been attacking the Soren-led Jharkhand government over issues such as alleged reduction in tribal population
Soren reiterated that the state government’s demand detailing the outstanding dues are the state’s rightful demands, adding that these are only for justice and not privileges
“When we tried to implement the 1932-Khatiyan, a legal spanner was put in place to thwart its implementation. Similarly, when we implemented the Mukhyamantri Maiyan Samman Yojna to provide monthly financial assistance to eligible women of the state aged 21 to 50 years they are exploring ways of obstructing its smooth implementation by taking legal opinions,” Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren said.
