A University of Cambridge degree apprenticeship provides an ideal opportunity for career development by combining workplace learning with an academic programme of study leading to a University of Cambridge postgraduate qualification. An apprenticeship is a job with training and assessment, which enables apprentices to gain highly transferable skills and knowledge in a specific occupation to an industry standard.
The University of Cambridge Institute of Continuing Education (ICE) is offering postgraduate level apprenticeships (Level 7) in a range of professional fields. All our apprenticeship programmes consist of formal off-the-job training at the University of Cambridge, alongside on-the-job training in the workplace with the employer. The expectation is for the apprentice to be supported by opportunities in the workplace to embed the skills and knowledge taught through the University of Cambridge. The basis of all our apprenticeships is a solid foundation and partnership between the apprentice, employer and the University.

University Vocational Awards Council (UVAC): information on all aspects of the policy and operational requirements of higher and degree apprenticeships.
Individualised Learning Record (ILR): the Education And Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) use the ILR data to calculate funding earned by publicly funded colleges, training organisations, local authorities and employers (FE providers). The data gathered provides information on the effectiveness of the learning programmes in terms of who they reach, what learning they receive, and what outcomes are achieved.
Employer Reference Numbers (ERNs): an ERN is given to every business that registers with HM Revenue and Customs as an employer. It is a unique set of letters and numbers often referred to on tax forms as an employer PAYE reference number.
