Ross Young: New iPad mini to come packed with an 8.3-inch display
What you need to know
- The new iPad mini might be getting a larger display.
- Ross Young says the new iPad mini will have an 8.3-inch display.
- The current iPad mini has a 7.9-inch display.
The rumors have been swirling about what is in store for the new iPad mini. From a new design to display technology, the new mini is sure to be a crowd-pleaser to those who love a smaller tablet.
The latest claim about the new iPad mini comes from Ross Young, the CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC). Young says that the redesign coming to the new iPad mini is actually going to bump the display size from the current 7.9 inches up to 8.3 inches.

Despite the growth of the display size, the new iPad mini should come in a similar if not slightly smaller package than the current model, which still sports the old iPad design with its sizable bezels, noticeable chins on the top and bottom, and the very old but still beloved (by some) Home button.
The new iPad mini is expected to go through a complete redesign, incorporating the design language of the new iPad Pro and iPad Air. It is expected to feature Apple's A15 processor which should be announced alongside the iPhone 13 as well as a smaller Apple Pencil to fit along with its smaller size. It is expected to be announced and release sometime this fall or winter.
