Today, I met with @tim_cook in Cupertino. Spain knows that the digital transformation is a priority and our #RecoveryPlan offers us a unique opportunity to take on this challenge. In an interview Sánchez stated "We expect to have an increase (in) investments of Apple in Spain in the coming years, in these two fields... First of all, artificial intelligence and, since we have this huge bet in converting Spain into a kind of European audiovisual hub, to see Apple TV also committed with my country"
The Prime Minister is currently touring the U.S. to promote Spanish business as Spain looks to set its recovery plan in motion in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Sánchez arrived in the U.S. on Wednesday, but has faced a tough few days because investors in the U.S. are concerned about the countries new housing laws, and proposed labor reforms. Apple is currently under investigation in the country over an alleged deal with Amazon to limit competition for sales of Apple's goods on the marketplace, as announced by the CNMC earlier this month.
