Fancy living it up in the sun for a hefty sum? Well now there’s a job available in which you can do just that.
A wealthy family are looking to pay a ‘travelling domestic couple’ $120,000 a year to run their gaff on their private island in the Bahamas - washing, ironing and cleaning - and they will even throw in a house to live in and a car.
The job advert reads:
“A high net worth family of four, with two grown children (who still live at home)...are now looking for an experienced domestic couple to become long-term team members to help manage and care for their homes and travel with the family.
“You should be skilled in household management and maintenance, helping with upkeep of the buildings and working with the other contractors. You should be organized and if you enjoy cooking this is a bonus. One of you may have to perform driving duties such as running errands or picking up guests from the airport etc. Occasionally one of you may be tasked to attend the other property on their own, but typically you will both be in the same residence together.”

The job is a standard 8am to 5pm, with the odd weekend and the successful applicant will also get health care and dental benefits.
Cleaning it might take a long time though - the estate consists of four houses with four bedrooms in each home. But the family also owns a large estate in Naples, Florida – and whoever gets the job can hop between the two on the family’s private jets, so swings and roundabouts.
Speaking to the Metro, Lucy Challenger, founder of domestic recruiter Polo & Tweed who posted the ad, said: “This really is a once-in-a-lifetime position. So much so that the client laughingly told me that he was tempted to apply for the job himself.
“Needless to say, we have been inundated with replies since the job went live on our website over the weekend. But we’ve yet to compile a short list so we would urge interested couples to send through their CVs without delay.”
The only catch is you will need a driving license, and the right to work in America. Sad times for us.
