Staff Selection Commission, SSC has released the SSC CGL answer key 2024 for tier 1 exam on its official website which is ssc.gov.in on 3rd October 2024. Candidates who appeared for the Combined Graduate Level Examination, 2024 Tier I exam can check the provisional answer key on the SSC's official website at ssc.gov.in.

Negative Marking in SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam

In the SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam, negative marking is applied for incorrect answers. Each question in the exam carries 2 marks. If a candidate answers a question correctly, they are awarded 2 marks while for an  incorrect answer, a penalty of 0.50 marks is there. Therefore, candidates need to answer carefully to avoid losing marks through incorrect responses.

Negative Marking in SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam

The SSC CGL Tier 2 exam also has the provision of negative marking. The Commission revised the exam pattern and marking scheme for the SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam. The marking structure varies across the different papers in Tier 2.

In Paper 1, each question carries 3 marks, and for every incorrect answer, there is a negative marking of 1 mark. In Paper 2 and Paper 3, each question is worth 2 marks, with a penalty of 0.50 marks deducted for each incorrect response. These changes in the marking scheme require candidates to be mindful of the different levels of negative marking across the papers while answering.
