Box cutter worked fine; letter opener not at all—it either tears the envelope
or does nothing, or very occasionally cuts an inch or two. Disappointing.
Box cutter is awkward to use, but it did a good job cutting my finger. The
letter opener is much safer, but it doesn't open envelopes. I cannot recommend
this product.
Unless you need a somewhat childproof box cutter I would opt for the Mirodri box
cutter
Cons - the magnet is not on both sides so you have to make sure you place this the
correct way when placing it on a magnetic surface - the letter opener just does not work, it will slice open some of the letter
but I honestly go back to my old fashioned letter opener stick I stick in the
letter and cut the top with. - only works cutting the face of the box, due to you needing to press the button
and also press down its virtually impossible to actually cute the sides of the
boxes so you can’t cut all the tape on the box. - also a bit annoying that you have to press and hold while cutting, i know this
is more so that its child proof but becoming annoying
Pros - nice colors
Overall this is not going to be used I will continue to use my midori box cutter
as its easier to use, doesnt need to be pressed, and is magnetic on both sides.
As others have pointed out, the box cutter function is awkward. You have to
press rather firmly to bring the cutting point into contact with the surface,
and this takes more effort (and is harder to control) than other small cutters.
The letter opener is even more awkward. It took some time to learn how to use
it on even thin envelopes, and I think it will not work at all on thick ones.
