These high-quality leads offer smooth writing, crisp lines, and great break resistance. The case features an innovative cap design: sliding it one way allows a single lead to come out a time, and sliding it the other way allows several leads to come out at a time.
Tombow mechanical pencil lead is on the lighter (less dark) end of the range
offered by the major manufacturers. As an example, it's even slightly lighter
than Staedtler HB. This being said, the Tombow is extremely well behaved. When
writing it produces nice sharp crisp lines and does not smear unless you lay it
down very heavy. Pencil rotation required to keep this sharpness is much less
than with other brands. I have not had any Tombow lead break on me.
It gets better !!, Tombow's heritage in supplying artists really shows up when
drawing and shading. It is easily controlled to produce consistent soft grey
tones, just smooth and beautiful from the first try. I really wish they would
make this lead in the 2.0 mm size.
It's alright but it's not touching Ain Stein or Uni Nano Dia at all. I don't
think I'd purchase again because of better options. Definitely doesn't feel like
the graphite in the Tombow Mono 100, non mechanical pencil. Although that could
be because of the thickness...
