This sharpener from Uni-ball is designed for colored pencil use only, and is suitable for sharpening the softer leads found in colored pencils without breakage.
This is an AMAZING pencil sharpener for the price. I bought it for my prismas,
but now I keep in in my school pencil case because it sharpens so well. This
sharpener should not be overlooked, even if you don't use colored pencils. I
also like that no one has stolen it because it is so unassuming. :)
Awesome little sharpeners for colored pencils, I'm able to shave off very long
unbroken strips like butter every single time from Prismacolor Premier soft core
and Verithins, Derwent Inktense, Faber Castell Polychromos, and even Crayola
pencils, so that means this sharpener is good quality and well sharpened even
though you wouldn't suspect that going by its price and appearance. I've had no
breakage of tips so far while sharpening (by hold the pencil still and twisting
the sharpener around the pencil) and can get an very fine point with very little
effort or waste which is particularly important with the ridiculously expensive
(but worth it) Polychromos.
Uni yet again makes an excellent, effective product and I shouldn't even be
surprised considering how much I worship their Signo lines. I ordered a second
sharpener just in case I lose the first one.
I've collected a number of hand-held pencil sharpeners for my colored pencils
over the years. This cheap, little gadget has become my absolute FAVORITE!
I've decided to order a bunch to keep on hand for the future.
I love this sharpener for colored pencils. I've been using a lot of colored
pencils for art projects, and this sharpener is fantastic. It creates a
beautifully smoothe finish, doesn't break the pencil in the process, and the
point is sharp enough to draw blood - so be careful! Great little sharpener!
This pencil sharpener is worth more than the price! It works just as good (if
not better) as a Staedtler or my former favourite colored pencil sharpener by
Faber Castell. It smoothly sharpens the pencil with ease. I'd enjoy having a
resvoir for the shavings, but it's great for a handheld. My stingy prismas are
nice and sharp now. Also, the sharp is, at first, similar to a company (i forgot
the word haha) sharpen. It's short and sharp, but if you sharpen it longer it'll
reach a nice point. I really love it, I'd buy more of these!
