Visit by the Executive President, Geophysical Institute of Peru (IGP)
On 7 October 2024, Dr. Hernando Tavera, the Executive President of Geophysical Institute of Peru (IGP), visited the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) and met the Director-General MORI Takashi.

Both sides recognized the importance of sharing experiences and knowledge, given the similarities of the two countries' environments in geological hazards. Dr. Tavera also visited JMA's earthquake/tsunami operation center.
