Though not related to mining directly, he spoke quite insightfully about this subject in the frame of leadership, and progressing change and how it was instrumental in changing South Africa away from its previous Apartied polices. Effectively it is important to have resolve as well as patience; having confidence there needs to be change and the direction headed/vision. It is always a gradual process that takes time moving people to new reforms. However if people know the vision and have the support they will get there. The same approach is is needed regardless of the challenge, and it tends to bring the best out of teams.
