Many companies throw out the word “transparency” quite frequently. However, when it comes time for impactful and company wide decisions, these decisons are often made in a boardroom comprised of only the executives. I believe that to be fully transparent, once has to be honest to a fault, and recognize that the right Team of individuals will value this honesty and not take it for granted. Instilling this sense of trust amongst Team members can foster an environment of collaboration and true Teamwork, where every member of the organization is able to speak their mind(s) without judgement. I have failed more times than I care to remember. What I do remember, are the individuals that did not judge my failures and helped me realize that success does not come instantly to us all. We live in a society where social media reigns supreme and kindness is often overlooked. I believe that failing and continuing to try and build something special is a testament to one’s fortitude and resilience, which are all traits I want my employees to value and revel.
