Assuming you live in a biotech hub, Industry events are the best place to grow a network. I’ve often found that in the workplace my exposure can be limited to my direct peers. However, if you attend industry events regularly that enables you to meet and keep abreast with a much more diverse set of people. The CAR-T biologists share stories with the ADC folks and both are learning about industry developments straight from the SME’s. Additionally the casual atmosphere lowers the barriers to asking “dumb” questions. Happy hours and the like are a great place to find mentors, gain knowledge, and meet people who may help you find your next job. You can find events through vendors, universities, or eventbrite.
