I agree, but don't spend too long learning the basics, to the point that you miss opportunities and you start sounding like a textbook with all that corporate jargon. It's important to be able to converse smartly with people working in the industry to gain their trust. But also remember many of the people you'll deal with everyday will be from a different industry and speak a different language. Eventually, you'll get measured by how effectively you translate "headwinds", "green leasing", and "space optimization", and what they ultimately mean for your client. In this industry, good things come out of being at the right place at the right time to catch that inquiry, but yes, you should be able to answer persuasively and with authority.

The real thrill comes when you have the guts to merge your vast experience with a robust mobile application, assigning a young, energetic leader to drive a digitalization project so thorough that you won’t need multiple apps to manage your real estate anymore. Even if you have what people want and they dont like you they will go somewhere else to get it if you dont appeal to them. Improve yourself. Become more proficient in your craft. Imagina ser um atendente agradável e ajudar o cliente a crescer seus patrimônios, sem sombra de dúvidas que é você que ele irá procurar para indicar outra pessoa.

Prepare-se e depois promova-se. Não fale sobre obviedades, ou gastará precioso tempo sem demonstrar sua qualificação de especialista. Comente sobre pontos específicos, interessantes e de interesse para determinado nicho... apresente-se como um especialista desde o início. A aparência não resolverá a falta de conhecimento. As pessoas buscam segurança sobre o real conhecimento no parceiro e ser agradável não irá resolver depois dos primeiros minutos de conversa. Cative, mas tenha profundo conhecimento para atender às expectativas.

I feel that a professional should seek five different ways to gain experience : 1. Targeted Internship in the sector or the industry of choice 2. Secure Part Time Job in the same industry if possible 3. Look at the Oppurtunities for volunteering in the areas of focus 4. Leverage these actions on growing the career in the industry 5. Be a part of the journey for continuous learning and adaptation

Find someone who you admire and is successful and copy their work ethic. Volunteer to work with them for a time if they will allow. Best know you become what you aspire to be like.

The CRE landscape is not just constantly evolving, it's also constantly opening up pathways to diversification or specialization. While a career in CRE is undoubtedly rewarding, I don't know a lot of people who want to be doing transactions when they're in their 60s. Think of this stint as a launchpad. I saw my career shift from advising real estate clients to getting green building professional accreditations, doing a full-time master's, then promoting sustainable corporate real estate in international development. The fundamentals are the same and I'm working with the same rolodex. Build on knowledge you gain and relationships you develop, focus on delivering value for your clients, and you're set for a rewarding CRE career.
