More often than not, they will spot a trend well before you. When it comes to software, understand new software in your industry isn’t a threat. They all do the same thing, just differently.

Mind maps are a great way to dump ideas and slowly build up a structured approach but the tricky part is always finding the initial dimensions you wanna get started with. What worked for me dealing with various teams and topics is the following - start simple - feel free to jump into solution ideas and work backwards, it opens people up and makes them question why do I need this solution - from solution derive the problems they had in mind - always have impact and stakeholders dimensions - go as deep as you want in any branch and don’t be afraid to get granular - by default the landscape starts to converge into certain directions, group and restructure the tree accordingly The outcome is usually one or two main actionable problems
