So many people echo past roles and responsibilities that are irrelevant to their future work targets. Don't do this. It comes across as disconnected from the role you hope to land and does nothing to increase your value to prospective employers. Ask yourself: 1) What are employers looking for? 2) What have I done that is directly transferable? 3) What have I done that is similar?

For me, it is so important to practice my answers for an upcoming interview with friends and family. In addition, it is even more useful to record myself on my phone so that I can got back to review my answers, see my body language and listen to my tone of voice. Do I look and sound confident? Am I saying "um" or "ya know" frequently. It can be a little uncomfortable, but it's a critical step in my own self-awareness before an interview or a presentation.

I've always considered interviews as a learning experience. So even if I don't get the job, what I will learn will be useful in my career. I found it useful to prepare at least 3 key questions and be ready with follow through questions when the interviewer said something important to me. How the interviewer answers my questions gives me a sense somehow if I'll proceed to the next stage or of green and red flags.
