En mi experiencia, el afrontar una situación como la descrita genera una tensión, porque se está juzgando la propuesta educativa y/o nuestra acción directiva. Lo fundamental es escuchar activamente lo que nos vienen a exponer y entender la necesidad y el propósito de la reunión. Algunas de estas pueden darse por las acciones de la rutina del colegio (hay la posibilidad de un error de algún miembro de nuestro equipo), pueden ser por tratar de justificar alguna acción del estudiante, también puede ser que el padre trate de obtener respuestas en relación a la manera de tratar a su hijo(a), entre otras posibilidades. Nuestro equilibrio, tranquilidad y empatía hará que podamos llevar una conversación alturada y fructífera.

Some parents are teachers so listening to them attentively can be beneficial to you as an educator too. On my opinion, parents who are heavy about a teacher not being able to teach are those in most cases, who are teachers, trying to swingle the teacher to use their teaching strategies.

Para mi siempre fue acertado el argumentar de acuerdo a los fundamentos del proyecto educativo, resaltando la centralidad del estudiante y sus necesidades. Así mismo el hacer notar que tanto ellos (familia) como nosotros (escuela) queremos lo mejor para sus hijos y son nuestra prioridad. También hay que dejar en claro lo que es posible desarrollar por la escuela y aquello que no lo es; de esta manera podemos compartir acciones y responsabilidades para solucionar el inconveniente.

That has been my best solution by far. I always offer solution to the parent, starting with offering myself for sure. I always ask if I can take the child for extra lessons or not in order to help them. Sometimes the parents themselves do voice out their alternatives and I have always welcome them.
