Whenever I faced some challenges in sales objectives I guide the team about how we can overcome these challenges. I always identified solutions of the problems and then guide and support team till the last moment.

Yes sales objectives should be smart and building of trust inside team members are very much important because a team is dream work. Motivation and appreciation are very much vital tools for team building and team performance.

I have seen managers who set goals towards their own achievements only, neglecting the team member’s own goals, when putting SMART goal you always have to go to your team’s mindset and personal goals, achieving their goals will achieve yours. If you team member/s has set the bar too low for their goals then this is your responsibility as a manager to show them the higher bar and to help improve their goal targets to get yours. Forcing a team to achieve company targets will get them to it if you keep pushing them, put it will be time and power consuming for the team and their manager.

Teamwork is a key component of success when it comes to medical sales, using each other’s connections, sharing contacts and sometimes changing faces is a very important fact. I usually like to set biweekly or monthly meetings for the team, with the way they like (physically or online) and share all updates of the market that we have, and share opinions of each update, use history or similar scenarios from their colleagues and myself and find new solutions, sharing challenges is very necessary in such meetings because it makes the speaker hear it while sharing it, and helps the more experienced to share their experience and the non-experienced to learn.

In short. Train you team as if they will apply the product tomorrow to their patient (which is the case on some products). In today’s huge medical sales market being the “purple cow” is very challenging and there are many obstacles to pass. Having a professionally trained team is the most critical way to shine while competition is rising. Always remember that a patient might be affected with the quality of the training a sales person has. We might not deal with a patient directly sometimes but we are medical professionals and we share responsibility!

I had a challenge to have shared simple schedules on an app or software, but i had zero budget to do so. Trello was one of the most important apps where it was an ideal solution for scheduling for free (or a very minor cost). Many apps are similar as well but please check these apps out if you are having a need. After a while, the app turned to be almost a personal calendar for the whole team, they used to schedule their days and plan it more effectively, it also helped the team to feel more connected by knowing how much their teammates are going sometimes under pressure. CRMs are a game changer and they always give a huge positive impact on the team and makes their work life much easier
