Realizing that mindset in today's world has changed from "Do it right the first time by taking time and going through a very thorough process and checks and balance and time tested methods' to " Fail as fast as possible and iterate with continuous feedback from stakeholders towards MVP" This is similar evolution from " punch card in mainframe days to Michigan Time Sharing" for compiling the program! Hence cost of mistakes for learning is small as you deliver delightful outcomes to stakeholders. Also psychological the the stigma with failure is no longer negatives

It is always good to remember the KISS rule as well. I was working on creating a very nice search bar for a client. Not only was it going above and beyond what they needed, what needed to be done couldn't fit their tools to build. Instead of working towards making this single feature work tirelessly, I decided it was in both of our best interests to simplify the design.

I heard someone say something along the lines: the only way not to make any mistakes is not to do any work. Keep driving forward and give it some thought (or workshop with the team) on what can be done differently and/or better the next time. We learn a lot more from our mistakes than from our successes.

Every time we work following processes we need to have critical mind to understand the goal of the process and how it is working, because in some cases nobody in the organization knows why this process in this way, some times it is the way we do it; but we need to analyze if all steps and activities add value and if we can do it faster, so my recommendation is to have this critical mind to think how we can do it better and faster with the quality we need to have better outcomes with no defects.
