In my experience, A mentor he is a trusted person with experience who can help you develop your skills and knowledge share thier own career story and introduce you to others to build your networks guide you towards oppertunities to start or to move up in your career to set goals, and take actions. Forexample, a peers mentor may share their metee's roles when that mentee start at new company and can help teach that mentee a bout the job. Over time peer mentors might help inform their mentees about job opening or offer guidance about company culture.
