In my experience, I believe incorporating safety into target and goal settings promotes safety among teams. Integrating safety goals into performance metrics and rewarding team members based on their commitment to safety reinforces the idea that safety is a critical aspect of overall team success.

Adding safety targets as part of individual KPIs . Let your team members understand that achieving production target with an injury equalize to zero performance. If it’s not safe , don’t do it till it’s safe should be their enthusiastic working slogan ✅

In my experience, safety feedback as an habit, increase the safety culture, if feedback is expressed seriously and structured, team members, team leaders and any other member of the operations group, will participate often. One team I´ve found helpful is to develop a structure with specific roles on SAFETY for the team leader and team member. A figure that is called ´´safety capitain´´ or ''punta estrella'' can helps a lot with audits and safety checklists.

Create awareness and promote the team members the positive mentality for ensuring and give priority safety in workplace. Not only physical involvement but also reduce the inherent risk by observing the mental condition of team members and workers. The leaders are deep honest, moral courage, moral vision, compassion and care, fairness, intellectual excellence, creative thinking, aesthetic sensitivity, good timing, and deep selflessness.

Model the response as well, the way you react to safety issues is critical. The worst thing can ever happen is to visit a work area and do nothing, you must make sure action is taken, the issues are addressed. In a few words, a change must be made. If everything is going right that change could be the recognition of what you found. Takes time and repetition of the same practice.

Lead by Example , if we want to implement safety system mean we have to ensure there is no option for safety & EVERY ONE HAVE TO FOLLOW PROCEDURES adopted across the factory and be a backborn of safety cultural transformation, make team to learn from history of invidents and case study and not from their own mistakes ( other practices can be learned from our own mistakes there is no space in safety), its better we can bring who faced real incidents and lost values they can share their experience that will give real impact to team, then we can see the real outcome.
