There are SO many creators out there now, and we've all heard that the new currency is time and attention. How are you going to get people to spend theirs on you? If you start by picking a niche and platform that you love but then produce the same content that everyone else in the space is putting out there, how in the world are you going to stand out, especially as a newcomer? So pick your niche and platform, but don't forget to identify how you're going to rise above.

Tell the audience a story that they can relate to themselves the problems pain and challenges. Eventually, they find the solution you are effectively crafting in the story. The solution is honest genuine and capable of helping them to steer out of the crises with success. When they find you as a guide and consultant their trust and credibility naturally get rooted.

Diversifying is one of the most important things to do when utilizing platforms like YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and beyond. REMEMBER: you are only renting the space on their platforms and that space can be revoked at any time. Social media channels should be used as marketing channels and springboards to bigger and better. If you don't own your audience (heads up: you don't own any of your audience on the channels previously mentioned), you are at risk of losing anything you've built. This is why it's so important to focus on building other things that are completely under your control such as merch, courses, products, etc.

One of the most interesting things to do is to go to some of your favorite creators' channels and go back to the oldest piece of content available, watch it, and then jump back to their most recent piece of content. The growth and change will almost always be mind-blowing—sometimes it won't even seem like the same creator! This is because they consistently invest in skills and tools to become better creators, storytellers, and marketers! They learn what their audience loves and what draws more people into their content, and they double-down on becoming the best at those things!
