In the US American workplace, we continually are told that we need to 'multi-task'. The research I have been reading indicates that 'multi-tasking' as we think of it doesn't exist. Instead, the human brain jumps quickly, from one focus to another in a sequential manner, not simultaneously. It occurs so quickly that we are fooled into thinking that our brain is focusing on more than one thought at a time. What I have learned is that 'multi-tasking' actually slows us down because our brain keeps jumping.

You can use a tool like the SMART framework to define specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound goals for each client. 3 Use a calendar and a to-do list

The third step to prioritize your deadlines is to use a calendar and a to-do list to organize your tasks and track your time. To facilitate my clients in working more effectively, especially those who have attention disorders, Lyndon B. Johnson, former USA President, created a simple, very effective model. Think of a square divided into four quadrants to tackle the day's work: urgent & and important; Important not urgent; urgent not important; not urgent not important. The goal is to address the urgent/important items. In time, be spending less of your time in this quadrant since you will be proactive. This allows you to address the important not urgent tasks. If something falls into the urgent not important -- delegate. Following this path lets you disregard the not urgent, not important. Where do you spend your time & and energy?
