In my experience, identifying potential vulnerabilities, threats, and the likelihood of their occurrence allows for a targeted security strategy. This involves evaluating both external and internal risks, from cyber threats like malware and phishing to potential data breaches due to employee error. One thing I've found helpful is to use a combination of automated security tools and manual checks to continuously monitor and evaluate the security posture. A mistake to avoid is implementing generic security measures without understanding the specific risks facing the client. This can lead to inadequate protection against actual threats or unnecessary spending on security controls that don't address the client's most pressing vulnerabilities.
