I firmly believe in daily production meetings to focus on outlining our position to schedule against the MPS and verifying supplier shortages. To improve the synchronization between production schedule and inventory planning we have some steps: 1) Understand the demand and evaluate the accuracy and bias of demand planning. Normally, when the accuracy is low we tend to make changes in the production schedule to compensate the lack of inventory to meet demand. 2) If the demand accuracy and bias is ok, we have to look at the inventory policies and understand if they are adjusted according to demand and lead times. If they are not, we have to configure the inventory policies. 3) Adjust the inventory policies according to variables time to time in a continuous improvement process.
