If your project can afford it, then just go with this deployment strategy. The only disadvantage is cost, while the advantages are several. I have listed few benefits here: 1. From Customer's prospective its the safest form of deployment as there is no downtime 2. Multi-scale deployment can be achieved 3. No need for Rollbacks, as you are not even touching the existing infra. If anything breaks just switch back to the working servers. 4. No need for DR, during the deployment and also for a set amount of time you will have two versions of the applications running. So DR is not even needed. 5. Easy for Devops to manage, this one make our life easy :) Its just that all projects cant afford to have extra infra to support blue-green
