So, another way to generate ideas that are both fresh and worth pursuing is to engage with, listen to, and understand your customers, their circumstances, and their experiences.

A lot of great answers have already been shared, such as - remaining curious, staying informed on industry trends, continuously learning, networking, etc. In addition, I would add authenticity and passion as probably just as crucial. If you are passionate about your idea/topic, your authenticity will shine through. If your audience can see your authenticity, trust is established. And if trust is established, then you've probably established an emotional connection, credibility, motivation and maybe even inspired someone.

Mind mapping is a great way to conceptulise thoughts and ideas. This can be done in any format, either paper one or using sofware tools. Miro or Bubbl.us are some of the simple and user-friendly online mind mapping tools worth trying. If you're creating ideas for the digital space, Figma or InVision are popular tools for creating interactive or digital prototypes.

Start by setting a clear objective for your innovation efforts, then brainstorm widely, allowing for out-of-the-box ideas. When you know what they care about, are worried about or are curious about, you'll be able to create something of value. It's not always that easy though. The really interesting ideas and innovations tend to come in at the edges, the intersections, the overlays, or the aggregation of other smaller ideas or concepts that are already in motion. Don't be afraid to see how far you can take an idea, or look at it from another angle, or turn it inside out. That's when the magic happens.
