I agree that we need to set goals and expectations. But we all being humans we are bond to make same mistakes again and again so using of proper tools for development purposes like (not limited to), 1. Same formatting config throughout, like using prettier. 2. Quality gates being setup like Sonar, for things like code coverage (also to make sure the PR has not decreased the coverage), code smells and other issues. 3. Commands to create template files, like in case of react-native templates for generating components which gives all biolerplate code. 4. Pre-commit hooks. Many such development tools which not only set goals and expectations, but also makes sure we follow them reducing overall time.

It is important not to embarrass your devs, otherwise, they will be less inclined to take risks on creative solutions and you will have singlehandedly created a culture that negatively impacts productivity and quality. Glaring mistakes should then be mentioned in an email or slack channel update with a video on why, but keep it anonymous and talk about the problem.
