I read a book that helped me align better with my internal stakeholders: Leading without authority. As a product marketing manager you will have to work with cross department colleagues and you will have to get things done with people that don't report directly to you, so you have to lead without authority. It's important that you involve everyone from the start, with clear goals, expectations and deadlines. People who collaborate with you need to have a feeling that the project is theirs as well. There is when you will get 100% commitment from them.

Establish and foster a team culture that welcomes diversity and encourage discussions. Make sure all perspective are heard and discussed. It enriches the experience and the outcome. As a team be disciplined with goals but be agile with strategies (up to a point where the team needs to commit and execute).

Beyond the "shared" vision, I would argue that a gread lead will also identify the KPIs of each team or individual on the launch team and show how the project will help them achieve THEIR goal and THEIR KPIs. Mapping the project, it is important not only to define the responsibilities and expectations but also explaining why each task is important and how delays or insufficient completion may impact the project. “He who has a why to live for can bear almost any how." Friedrich Nietzsche. Our job as leaders is to provide a clear understanding of the WHY to our team.

I really like LinkedIn's Premium Membership. It helps me better manage my target clients and allows me to get more results at work. For example: 1: I can save my search records and know when new clients come in. 2: I can upload my target clients to LinkedIn Premium and LinkedIn will identify employee trends in the client company for me, which allows me to understand the client company very quickly. 3: 20 search conditions allow me to understand my target customers faster; 4: When we visit customers, we can use the local search feature to visit more target customers. So I really like LinkedIn.

To really embed a culture of feedback in my product marketing team, I schedule bi-weekly 'innovation huddles.' In these casual meetings, we discuss not just ongoing projects but encourage sharing 'wild card' ideas—those out-of-the-box thoughts that might otherwise never surface. Everyone gets to speak, and every idea is welcomed without immediate critique. This practice has not only strengthened our collaboration but has also led to some of our most successful campaigns, born from the least expected suggestions. It's about making space for creativity within the structure of our regular workflow.

To foster a culture of feedback and learning in your team, lead by example, create a safe environment for open communication, and schedule regular check-ins. Clearly communicate expectations, encourage peer feedback, and implement a 360-degree feedback system. Recognize and celebrate learning achievements, provide training opportunities, and utilize feedback tools. Foster a growth mindset, create a centralized learning resource hub, and offer feedback training. Establish feedback loops within projects and processes to continuously review and improve outcomes. I am a self-learning person who loves to share. I like to watch all the videos on LinkedIn, which allows me to immediately use new features and get first-hand bonuses, which makes my work more satisfying. At the same time, I love to share. I take what I know and put it in a form that is easier for everyone to understand. I will do internal training within the company and training for customers. Sharing makes you happier. The more people share, the more they will fall in love with learning.

Celebrating wins all along the way is vital. Making this a regular patter helps keep motivation up even when things go sideways (they will). For PMMS another aspect of this is celebrating across the org. Even in small ways. Leaders aligning with leaders of collaborators is important. This will smooth the way for future work too.

Celebrating the people who help your project to succeed is the best recipe to win alies for future endeavours. Create and foster a culture of celebrating milestones, people's ideas and effort. You will have more people commited to the cause which will influence your own success in the end.

Team management is not about not making mistakes, but about knowing mistakes and being able to correct them. It is also best to set up a company complaint system to prevent the same mistakes from happening to other customers and colleagues in the future. I think this is really important and there are a lot of new opportunities. It came out of a complaint. what do you think? In team management, the best way to motivate people is to help them achieve the results they want and to stimulate their self-direction. Whether through training or one-on-one coaching, you need to encourage them but also walk them through the process. Achieving and making others successful is the greatest success of a leader. This will make the team more cohesive.

In my view the following 1) know your team members and form strong relationships. Best way to do that is to embrace vulnerability and creating an inclusive culture 2) celebrate wins but also acknowledge learnings… things will go wrong! It’s only normal for it…. Creating an emphatic culture is super critical! 3) offer constant support and guidance and escalate when things aren’t moving forward. Be the unblocker!

I personally like using the notion of "Team APIs" that is, the "Gives" and "Gets" that each team agrees to have with others. This might be weekly or quarterly... but it ensures handshake exchange of information. For example, PMM could *give* sales enablement info on prospecting, and in exchange, would *get* feedback from customers/prospects. Structure these agreements (and exchange frequency) with every team PMM touches.

It's important to just spend time with your teammates. Ice breakers can be painful, but if done correctly, are a great tool for learning more about your co-workers and building relationships. When possible, try to meet in person and hang out. I promise that if you like each other, you will collaborate better.
