Finally, -Evaluate your financial situation and any other factors that may impact your career choices. By thoroughly analyzing your career situation, you are better equipped to make informed decisions to steer your professional path towards success.

Here is one way to assess your Values. Answer these questions: Write down a time you were the happiest, proudest, or most fulfilled. • What were you doing? • Were you with other people? Who? • What other factors contributed to your happiness, pride, or fulfillment? • What was it that made it valuable to you? That is, what did it give you?

In my experience, it can be overwhelming to tell a client: 'Tell me about your interests'. You see, the big majority of people expect this question and have been (unsuccessfully) looking for the right answer for their career in them. A different way to approach to this is to look at your work experience and pick the things you've enjoyed so far, e.g. analyzing data, presenting, managing people, etc. Similarly, is there anything in your personal life that you wish you could dedicate more time to? E.g. healthy eating or helping the environment? Always remember that the opposite also works - what you don't like, can inform you of what you really want! And also that, sometimes a hobby is just a hobby :)

Take a look at 10-20 job descriptions or job postings of jobs that interest you and make a list of the skills requested in those postings. If more than half of the postings are requesting a skills you don't have, those are the areas where additional training might be useful. Adding new skills to your tool kit is useful whether you are moving up in your company, or moving out. Just be sure those skills, and the courses needed to get those skills, will be useful and valued in your "next forever job".
