Maintaining composure with clients is essential for good project management and relationships. To handle difficult situations, first, establish clear boundaries by defining expectations and communicating them clearly. If a client pushes these boundaries, remind them of the agreements. Next, practice active listening to understand their perspective while acknowledging their concerns without becoming emotionally involved. Take regular breaks to manage stress and avoid burnout. Focus on solutions by proposing alternatives and collaborating with clients. Finally, reflect on interactions to learn from experiences and improve future communication.

Stay calm and professional. Focus on facts and solutions. Set clear boundaries. Communicate directly and respectfully. Keep emotions in check.

Start by asking questions. This will re-establish some control. The main question I would ask is "What outcome are you hoping to achieve with this?" It is always good to know if their intentions align with yours. It is not about disarming them as much as it is about de-escalating the tensions in the room. "Why are we here... and What is the best way to get this done?" Sometimes you just need to call out the elephant in the room and ask "What are your intentions behind adding this extra pressure?" Feel free to connect if you want more coaching.

Depends if the pressure is on a single person or a team or cross-functional teams. Increased pressure is Not always a bad thing, It showcases our limits and helps us understand how we can optimize our next approach with our next client. Maintaining composure is something related to behavioral strategy which we have to pre-decide. If there is more added pressure, we can maintain the composure by reorganizing the delegation and having some extra help or assistance from your team. If we are talking about a single person then taking break times, using kanban boards shared across the client and taking a cool-off session with the client might help, where you reassure the client that the work is progressing as per the decided timeline/deadline.
