I see this as translating the feedback. Many people lack specificity when delivering feedback, so your job is to provide that clarity: What is the person who gave the feedback saying the writer should have done differently? Should the writer have known better? If so, how? It's also important to explain the "why," so they can avoid it in the future. But then there are those personal quirks, & knowing them can make a writer's life a lot easier. Maybe someone hates a certain word & you just tell the writer to never use it when writing for them (I had a boss who hated "make sure."). And some people just have to change something. We called it "peeing on trees." With one person, we'd insert obvious typos just to give them something to change. ;)
