If it's the case that info or a decision has to be considered carefully before announcing, say it. Explain that decision makers don't want to make knee-jerk, reactive decisions & need more time. Build trust by keeping people up to date with what's happening & why. You'll have more goodwill & patience than being vague & locking information down behind confidentiality & red tape. Everyone's human: decision makers & impacted colleagues. Help build relationships between them & there'll be greater understanding & respect around sensitive issues.
