Striking the perfect balance between cost and reliability in power system maintenance is key to ensuring uninterrupted service without overspending. To navigate this challenge:
- Assess risk versus impact: Evaluate the potential risks of equipment failure against the impact on your operations.
- Schedule regular maintenance: Implement a routine maintenance plan to prevent unexpected breakdowns and costly repairs.
- Invest in quality components: Choose reliable parts that may have a higher upfront cost but will save money in the long term through reduced failures.
How do you balance cost with reliability in your maintenance strategies?

Reliable plants don't always spend more money. Actually, they save much more than they spend on maintenance. Reliability and maintenance improvement initiatives shall focus on high critical systems & impact to predict & prevent failure before it happens and if it happens takes minimum time to repair & return back in service. It saves lot more than what we invest in improvement.
