Communication and Clarity of mission are keys to every endeavor. Construction and the associated noises are TEMPORARY, however; you should know your neighborhood. Starting Early or Finishing Late are both legitimate strategies. There will ALWAYS be a sample size that will not be happy. Understanding local stakeholders is still an investment in a smooth project and happy neighbors. Asking questions - a lot of them - will prepare the neighbors for what ever inconvenience they might expect. - What is the most irritating aspect of construction in the neighborhood - What could the OTHER developer have done differently to make that project easier on the neighbors Even if there are not good solutions for all aspects - you will earn GoodWill!
