I think the critical element for successful internship is to demonstrate eagerness to learn. In general good people likes the one who demonstrate that skill, they like the one who ask and quickly apply his learnings and then ask for more. I really like to one who ask how he/ she can help and do tasks which look trivial to get into the day day work, the ones who do not mind to spent hours and efforts to learn something new.

Take initiative by volunteering for projects or tasks. Show your enthusiasm and willingness to learn. Don't hesitate to ask for clarification or deeper insights. This demonstrates your interest and helps you understand complex concepts. Also,Identify a mentor within the organization. Regularly ask for feedback and advice to enhance your learning.

Ask questions, volunteer for extra tasks, and seek feedback to improve. Build relationships with mentors and colleagues, and stay updated on industry trends. Request LinkedIn recommendations from mentors and professionals you connected with during your internship. It may seem counterintuitive BUT never make it a habit to just cosy up to high level executives/VIPs at the expense of others. Treat everyone with the same respect and importance. Grow together and one day they will be crucial to your career. Also any high level person worth their salt can spot a 'brown-noser' a mile away!

Very true. We should not adopt a narrow perspective that only concerns our section. Go broader. Familiarise yourself with the business aspect of the industry and even shifting industry outlook and legislation of nations (and bodies like UN etc). That's where the next big thing will come from. During my internship at OGDCL’s Qadirpur Gas Field, I made it a point to strictly follow all safety protocols, from wearing the proper PPE to thoroughly understanding the risks involved in each operation. By taking every safety briefing seriously and staying vigilant, I not only protected myself but also demonstrated my commitment to industry standards. This focus on safety is not just a requirement—it reflects professionalism and is essential for gaining the trust and respect of your peers and supervisors in the field.

A segurança vem em primeiro lugar e o resto vem depois na indústria petrolífera e sem ela não se pode alcançar os objetivos de maneira eficaz e /ou eficiente, serviços ou produtos de maior qualidade e sem comprometer as atividades ou operações, na garantia da saúde e bem estar do funcionário, na prevenção do bom estado da instalação e dos materiais ou ferramentas usadas. Como Estagiário, fiz questão de me comprometer em seguir e cumprir ao pé da letra todos os protocolos e regulamentos de segurança durante o tempo em que estagiei desde o uso de EPI's de forma adequada e em bom estado de uso assim como os Equipamentos de proteção coletivo quando necessário.

Whether it was praise or constructive criticism, I took it with an open mind and used it to improve my skills and approach. Na minha opinião o feedback é fundamental para evolução de um profissional. Seja uma crítica positiva ou negativa, com certeza será um fator que guiará o colaborador fará com que tenha conhecimento do que ele está entregando é o suficiente do que esperam ou ainda pode melhorar.

O feedback é uma bússola fundamental para direcionar o desenvolvimento profissional de cada um de nós. Em muitas culturas o feedback só é concedido quando é solicitado. Não tenha receio do feedback, procure por feedbacks. O feedback otimiza e aumenta a possibilidade de seguir pelos melhores caminhos.

Não se pode alcançar uma carreira de sucesso sem termos o feedback tanto dos teus supervisores assim como dos colegas, a auto-avaliação é positiva mas insuficiente quando se trata de desempenho. Críticas construtivas incentivam no melhoramento das habilidades ou competências técnicas e/ou comportamentais de um estagiário impulsionando o crescimento do mesmo como um profissional pronto à fazer face aos desafios e aproveitar todas as oportunidades.

Durante o tempo em que estagiei, a reflexão foi uma espécie de "o prato de cada dia", pois eu costumava fazer um levantamento em relação às metas traçadas e objetivos alcançados, habilidades desenvolvidas ou competências adquiridas, melhorias no meu desempenho, o tipo de profissional em que me propus a ser no futuro próximo, a forma como lidava com as tarefas ou operações executadas sob pressão e como dava a volta por cima, o meu comportamento em relação aos colegas ou supervisores entre outras coisas.
