You don’t. Let them live in their bubble. Reality will catch up eventually, but hopefully you’ll be retired by then so you don’t have to deal with them anymore, am I right?

I completely understand the challenge of managing client expectations when dealing with technical limitations in AR. One effective strategy is to establish a "proof of concept" milestone. This approach sets the stage for further development, especially if technical challenges are anticipated. A paid proof of concept encourages clients to become more engaged and invested in the outcome; when it’s free, there’s a risk they might be dismissive and less committed. By developing a prototype, you give clients a tangible experience of AR, fostering engagement and allowing for meaningful feedback. This collaborative process not only helps in setting realistic goals but also demonstrates your dedication to delivering a successful outcome.

Bringing a clients expectations to a level that is realistic is always a challenge. You don't want to bring their expectations and enthusiasm down but also don't wanna set them up for disappointment once they see the final project. In such cases, revaluate the capabilities of AR with your client so that they understand the limitations and restrictions of the project. Also provide them with successful case studies with similar challenges to convince them. It isn't a deal breaker if the one specific thing they thought is not happening, the final goal can still be achieved.

Explain technical limitations upfront, including hardware, software, and user-experience constraints. Also ensuring that you are clear about what AR can and cannot do for their specific project.

Managing a client's unrealistic expectations around AR content requires a mix of transparency and collaboration: I start by clearly explaining the technical limitations and how they might impact the project. I then focus on aligning expectations by offering alternative solutions that fit within these constraints. If needed, I propose a prototype or proof of concept to showcase what’s feasible, allowing the client to see tangible results early on. This approach not only sets realistic goals but also fosters a collaborative environment where we can work together to achieve the best possible outcome within the given limitations. 💡🤝
