Understanding "the what" of urgency is key. What is the urgent need that is the needle mover of results? What can be prioritized and what will that mean leaving behind? Clarify with the client that the thing you are going to divert focus to is aligned with the established goals. Your coaching excellence is always held by your focused presence, deep listening and capacity to hear and reflect what the client might not have awareness about. Are you and your client operating from a perspective of reacting and putting out in-the-moment fires or are you responding to the moment with the correct action that retains your values and sustainability of the business?

Pressure doesn't break a great coach; it shapes them. When urgent client demands pile up, I don’t let coaching take a back seat. Instead, I turn the pressure into precision. I streamline sessions to focus on high-impact areas—like key behaviors that directly affect current sales challenges. I once had a week where back-to-back client issues clashed with scheduled coaching. I adapted by breaking coaching into short, powerful sprints focused on immediate needs. This maintained momentum without compromising quality. Under pressure, excellence comes from prioritizing what moves the needle now while keeping an eye on the bigger developmental picture.
