Discipline is more important because, unfortunately, motivation comes and goes, but good habits help you stay on track even when bad days hit! Take breaks and never feel guilty when you do. Fully disconnect for a day or two if needed so you return to the search stronger and with a fresh perspective. Be kind to yourself and never let rejection define you. Surround yourself with good people and guides who will support you and hold you accountable. Assess critically when things don't turn out as you expected so you can adjust and make changes, and celebrate and be proud of yourself when a good thing happens during your search. It takes time to land a job that changes your life but the transformational experience is worth it!

When I was job hunting a few years ago, I was exhausted because I tried to do too much. I learned to limit my applications to no more than 4 per day. Job hunting involves more than just applying; it requires customizing your résumé, reaching out to contacts, and more. This can be mentally draining and lead to burnout. To stay motivated, set small, daily goals and consider having an accountability partner to check in with you. Consistency is key. If it's too much, take weekends off. Remember, slow and steady wins the race—be a turtle, not a rabbit, in your job search.
