Creating an inclusive culture is essential. I encourage diverse voices and perspectives by fostering an environment where all team members feel comfortable sharing their ideas and insights, regardless of their location. I support remote training sessions and workshops that allow our team to enhance their skills and feel valued as part of our organization’s mission. I actively seek feedback on our remote work experience. This not only helps identify areas for improvement but also demonstrates that every voice matters in shaping our community and culture.

Maintaining a strong community and culture in hybrid, remote, or multi-location environments boils down to one thing: connection. Team members need to intentionally create connections, and organizations should provide opportunities for them. In the first week of our Catalyst program, we challenge leaders to make a genuine connection with at least one person in their organization that they don’t know or don’t know well. It’s simple—ask questions and find out what makes them unique or brings them joy. By week eight, leaders are connecting with multiple colleagues each week, and within four weeks, we've seen cross-department collaborations begin to emerge.

In corporate real estate, maintaining community and culture remotely requires deliberate efforts to foster connection and engagement. Regular virtual meet-ups, such as team-building events and casual check-ins, help sustain rapport and communication. Utilizing shared digital platforms for collaboration and social interactions creates spaces for informal connections, similar to an office environment. Additionally, recognition programs that celebrate individual and team achievements are crucial for boosting morale and reinforcing a positive culture. These strategies help uphold a sense of belonging and maintain the company's culture, even when teams are working remotely.
