I was very lucky. I thought it was going to be just a job. But being hired in an Automotive Manufacturing Plant became a lot more. My experience of Mastering the Basics came in 3 lump sums. The first 3 years I basically did production type work. Hand Gauging Inner and Outer Rings and then Hand Assembly. There was a production limit and any over production you made you were paid for. The next 5 years I was moved to the front office as an Inventory Control Clerk. I kept up with Parts made In House and Purchased Parts. The yearly Inventory our Department was responsible for. The last 6 years I spent in the Quality Department working with the Engineering Department. The best lesson I know of is always ask questions.
