You're a Partnerships professional. How can you improve your customer relationship management skills?

First things first: Understand your customer. Next, Clear and regular communication, deliver value consistently, create trust and build loyalty, collaborate and keep being innovative.

Ownership. If you don't get things right, be transparent, tell your customer it is not right but how it is you intend to provide resolve. Own it.

It is simple really, you must remember that you are NOT THE HERO in your customer's journey. Not Luke, you are Obi-Wan and that is very powerful. Define your outcomes and set expectations with your customers early and often. This will allow you to better create a tangible story to work on together and a collective outcome that will benefit everyone involved. I see many partner managers go in gung-ho with their ideas and their products and pitches without taking the time to appreciate the "whats in it for me" moment. Cannot tell you the number of times that I have actually stopped people trying to pitch to me without understanding what a collective outcome was. You have to be bold with your stories and consistent in making it happen.

Be a good listener. Talk clearly to customer so that they can provide a clear understanding of their wants and needs. By this we can provide them solutions which meets their expectations

To get better at managing customer relationships in channel partnerships, keep things clear and listen actively. Make sure you know what your partners need and regularly touch base to make sure you're on the same page. Work together in a friendly way, ask for feedback, and adjust how you work based on each partnership. Stay updated on what's happening in your industry and be ready to solve problems before they become big. The most important things are building trust and keeping communication open for successful channel partnerships and good customer relationship management.

The aim is not only to be consistently aware of the opportunities of your partners but as well as the opportunity where they can influence them positively. I will often recommend to do joint-account mapping or dedicated ABM campaigns to ensure you are covering both customers and new business for them. You can use specific tools for account mapping such as Reveal or Crossbeam for this. For new business, a PRM or a joint spreadsheet with clear items and next steps will ensure that you are both aware of what is needed. To deliver the best value, you can also align with them on thought leadership pieces so you cover all of the co-initiatives possible. Doing QBR or frequent possible feedbacks process is a good way to continue to improve

The most important piece of this step is to fully understand your customer's KPIs. If you have that from the beginning, you can ensure you're tracking in the right direction and can hit your targets.

One way to build trust and credibility when working with partners is to connect them with other contacts or partners who might have a solution they are looking for when your own product suite doesn't quite fit the bill. You can also refer the partner to someone else looking for a solution that your partner has. This shows that you care about providing a viable solution for them, even if that solution is with another organization. An additional bonus: you are helping them grow their network.

The biggest way to gain trust with your customers is by providing the best customer service and having quick turnaround times in responses.

Collaboration: Seek input and involve partners in decision-making processes. Show that you value their expertise and are committed to working together towards shared goals. Collaborative efforts strengthen the partnership and create a sense of mutual investment.

There is an abundance of thought leadership available today through various forums and communities. Find those thought leaders and incorporate their frameworks into your own. You should develop a framework for effective partnership management and be able to articulate it clearly.

Buscar activamente la retroalimentación de clientes, analizar fortalezas y debilidades, y adaptarse a través de experiencias son claves para la mejora continua. Me ha resultado práctico al momento de comenzar una nueva relación de atención con el cliente para verificar como desea ser atendido Es más fácil al momento de atender empresas, pues conocerás sus procesos, si requieren aprobación previas al momento que ofrecemos nuestros servicios. Perfecting your listening skills is the best thing you can do to grow an expansive partnership founded in trust and strategy. By listening you not only seek to understand, but it helps to avoid assumptions, missteps and communication blunders.

It is a mix of different growth mindset skills. To be able to support your partner's you should start with active listening to understand what they are doing well , what can easily be improved and quicker and what will need a lot of effort to address.. Being able to communicate clearly and with empathy will help get things done always with an action plan to keep track of what's been done and what's in progress. Have problem solving capabilities, always go back to your people with solutions in mind, not just focussing on the problems. Having the patience and capacity to follow up on things and make sure progress is made. Celebrate the wins and feedback in a constructive manner on whats still stuck. Keep learning 🤜🤛
