Nuestro equipo es el medio por el que logramos los objetivos de ventas. El desarrollo del personal debe de ser constante y real, una capacitación dinámica permite sorprender a las personas y mantenerlos interesados. Adicional a la capacitación, debemos de asegurar tener una cultura organizacional de la que nuestro equipo esté enamorado. La inspiración puede más que la obligación.

Agree these are all important things, dashboards are critical. But for “sales ops” performance, it is my opinion that sales operations should own the number just like a sales leader. Our job is to make it so the sales team is successful, so if we are not tied to a quota, how does that make any sense? Obviously like any ramping and onboarding when sales ops team members are new to roles or maybe have additional responsibilities, but we need skin in the game, otherwise it doesn’t hurt when we lose. Compensation may be different, but I don’t see why in a sales ops or revops leadership position compensation wouldn’t be tied to performance and by performance I mean the team’s performance.

In my experience, Sales Operations plays a critical part in enabling the rapid testing and validating of assumptions and hypotheses. In order to innovate, organizations must have the right framework in place to try new things while also collecting relevant data to evaluate the performance. Sales Operations enables this framework while also helping functional leaders make sense of the results, tweak as needed, and scale what works.

Todo cliente debe de percibir un valor agregado de nuestro producto o servicio. Al comunicarnos con nuestro cliente debemos de resaltar el valor agregado de nuestra oferta y su uso. ¿Por qué somos mejor opción? ¿Qué me hace mejor que el vecino? Escuchar al cliente es importante pero no debes de olvidar mantener la estrategia firme y medir con datos reales dichas sugerencias. A veces generamos un caos operativo por la sugerencia del 1% de los clientes y de pronto ellos ni eran clientes frecuentes. La innovación debe de ser contínua y siempre tomando en cuenta la ejecución de cada paso, mantener procesos simples y eficientes nos garantiza la consistencia y calidad al cliente.

I don't believe it is the job of the team in Sales Operations to make sales. Their job is to: - Make it easier for the salespeople to sell more. - Highlight any areas where the sales team can be more effective. - Ensure the CRM system aligns with the sales processes and methodologies. There is enough to do with those responsibilities without adding in a quota.

The simplest and most underutilized tactic: Just talking to customers and teammates to understand their perspective. We can spend all the time in the world analyzing data and trying to prove assumptions, but so often the customers and team share an anecdote that we could never just surface in the data. Spending 10% of the time engaging customers and teammates will likely answer 75% of the problem. A rule we implement in most orgs is "You can't diagnose a problem and create a solution without proving it out with the customer/teammate." We want a feedback culture, and the *only* real way to get it is by talking to people.

This involves changing the focus from only selling products to recognizing and addressing customer wants and pain spots. This strategy entails paying close attention to what customers have to say, understanding their problems, and providing solutions that are specifically customized to fit their needs. This will ultimately lead to the expansion and success of their businesses.

I think, of course, analyzing, adding more training, improving processes, and all of the things mentioned in this article are important, but getting feedback from the sales team is probably the most important. Where are they struggling, where are they falling down, where do they need help. All of these things should be consideredon the sales operations team to help enable the sales team to achieve their goals and get back on track. I see companies all the time try to just slap training on a problem, and that doesn’t solve the problem at all. If leaders would try, just asking, that would be a great start.

After conducting substantial pipeline analysis, looking for areas that stand out such as deal conversion. For example, maybe deals that didn’t make it from stage one to stage two digging to figure out why. Are there later stage deals? Finding anything that sticks out to dig into is where we find the diamonds. Sales ops and rev ops, have to really be digging into the pipeline every day multiple times a day, listening to calls, and understanding where the bottlenecks are. Sometimes it’s fundamentally that there’s just not enough at the top of funnel. Understanding where to start and then guide the sales leaders based on those recommendations.
