Data sent from one computer leads to an immediate output from the second. If that data was corrupted or data was lost, will that output be the one that you are looking for? I guarantee not -- same goes for communication; learn it.

Hope for the best, but prepare for ... other stuff. This means developing plans to make sure that if something does go wrong, it can be managed in a parallel track that doesn't hold the venture hostage, or stuck in limbo.
