A warning to new educators/admins navigating this part of the system: Be very weary of any educational organization that does not promote open dialogue, especially related to the core/essential components of learning. Imagine a world where Common Core was the standard for learning and all educators had to do to be successful in the classroom was to follow along… Please allow for arguments. Encourage teachers to disagree and make noise. Find ways to engage all of your teachers at this level. Yes, it requires your mediation and direction, but can evolve into great moments of professional development - and is how we maintain authentic educative practice as stewards charged with protecting and fostering our next generation of developing minds.
