Here's how you can continually learn and enhance new skills as an account manager.

It is very important to be up to date with innovations and business evolution; I consider the following to be of great value: We must keep our self-care as a priority to be able to provide good service to our client and business partner: developing strategies, making decisions, being creative and innovative, being constantly learning, having that attitude of service that characterizes us. If we are not good internally we cannot reflect it with our team and even less with our client.

Dedicating a bit of time each day to learn something new is a fantastic way to keep those account management skills sharp! Stay curious and keep growing!

Learning isn't just a task; it's a daily habit for any successful account manager. Whether it's diving into industry webinars or catching up on the latest trends, staying informed keeps us ready to tackle any challenge that comes our way.

As many have pointed out- - Understand where the industry is heading - Check what the competitors are heading - Check where the industry leads - See where your product comes in - help client elevate his service accordingly!

Has to be supreme level curious, Reading Writing and Hearing, Understanding, analyzing, decision making continuously without stopping in any case! Keep asking what is not clear at all till realize. Gather opinion from souround and decide in own. Always priority to floor other to express first. Talk at the last after all of others opinion and suggestions complete. Focus the risk and burning issues too the company management, to over come before affects and taking place. EGO has to be zero. Daily KPI from team and morning brainstorm. Weekly follow up progress meeting with vendors and concern supply chain entrepreneurs. Keep monitoring profit and loss account, and pre work to meet the budget and target Business! Physically need to attend team

Maintaining regular check-ins with clients to resolve issues, listen to their concerns, and negotiate solutions that work for both sides is key. Being adaptable and continuously reviewing performance to make necessary improvements is also important.

Account Managers are the middle men for everyone. They are the bridge betweem Product, Tech and the end client. While regular check ins help, it is also helpful to have a vision/ the potentials for the projects/ accounts you are handling. Align these visions, with the clients and the team accordingly.

Networking does help casting a wider net and understanding practices that may help you improve in your current skill set. It might be as simple as being an active participant in CS/ AM groups where professionals across discuss their company cultures, practices etc.

Setting realistic goals and having a detailed action plan is the quickest way to grow as an Account Manager, and in all positions, for that matter, IMO. Having practical goals forces you to improve on other aspects mentioned in this article, encourages experiments and creativity, and last but not least allow you to zoom out and see how far you've gone. - Set multiple small goals with short deadlines, and also long-term goals (3 months, 6 months, etc.) - Check back on your progress regularly. - Learn and level up. Not only can you learn from others, you can also learn by reflecting on your own journey, having goals helps with that.

Reflection is an important step to ground yourself and learn! If I don’t know how to approach a situation or feel stuck, I’ll look to the past and see if I’ve dealt with something similar. I’ll assess how I handled it from start to finish and why it was successful or not. If it was a success, I’ll consider my approach, the types of questions I asked, and the problem and solution we offered. If it was not a success, I’ve realized there were details I missed and questions I didn’t ask early on. Remember, not every prospect is going to be fully forthcoming, and it’s up to you to uncover the details! Reflection helps me grow and learn from my past mistakes (and not make the same mistake twice).
