Just a year ago I had a limited social network since I was in corporate for a while. YET, I had NO CLUE how to grow an network of inspiring people in this new startup/entrepreneurial world. What I found thought is that: -people on this journey often relate to the struggles of starting out and what to help and connect with others -Linkedin and other social networks provide amazing opportunity to connect with like minded individuals around the world. So I would focus on: -getting as clear as possible who you want to connect with and why (ex: I want to learn about X, etc) -Be curious and genuine when you reach out and simply ask for advice. -Make it easy to book time with you, create a scheduling link -Show appreciate and ask for referrals

I have noticed that many startups attend such events and not just learn but also contribute to these events in a wonderful way.

a. There a many different ways to get successful at Startups and also to learn from the mistakes of several of them. b. I have benefitted from being part of a larger community where I've spent time with incubators and accelerators who bring together a bunch of startups which share a lot of knowledge about their journeys. c. Offering value first is key in networking. -> In my experience, sharing resources and providing feedback has built stronger connections. -> I once connected a colleague to a potential client, which greatly benefited their business. -> This approach made me a valuable contributor and encouraged reciprocal engagement. It is also good to understand at depth as to how you want to be connected and what you do for each other? Establish the right synergy and symbiosis. b.
