Although it is necessary to practice how your salary negotiation might go, this reassurance cannot be build in a few days. Self confidence is one of the most important things you should have no matter what you do or who you are, and it's a process. Everyone has beneficial traits that they should discover in themselves and find confidence through them. But the more important thing is, to know your other traits, you are not to happy with and try to see the positive or useful side of them. So knowing yourself and what you bring to the table, will build your confidence. In further preparation you can link your work to the said traits and give your manager more arguments for the future and therefore for an increased salary.

Expect some pushback and prepare your responses in advance. If an employer cannot meet your salary expectations, ask for feedback and what would be required to reach that level in the future.
